This is just one of the many partnerships announced in October that aim to use tech to reduce administrative tasks.

In a push to use technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to reduce administrative burden, Suki this week announced a partnership with Google Cloud to save physicians time and improve value for health systems.

Through the Google Cloud Partner Advantage Program, Suki, an AI-powered, voice-enabled digital assistant, will leverage Google Cloud’s AI, machine learning and cloud technology to develop and improve language models for physician-focused solutions.

“As a partner of Google Cloud, we hope to provide even greater value to enterprise health systems by improving clinical workflows, relieving physician burnout, and, most importantly, help doctors in more specialties remain focused on delivering high-quality care,” said Punit Soni, M.S., MBA, founder and CEO of Suki.

Suki understands speaking styles and intent from conversations that happen in clinical practice and adapts a physician’s commands to be more personalized the more the technology is used. Google Cloud’s advancements in AI and machine learning could improve Suki’s ability to accurately complete administrative tasks like clinical documentation or information retrieval from an electronic health record, the company said.

Physicians are burdened with hours of administrative work and Suki has the potential to alleviate some of that while allowing the physician to have more time with their patient. By using the digital assistant, the average time per note has lowered from an average of more than 13 minutes to just over three minutes, Suki claimed.

“Suki is leveraging the power of Google Cloud to develop a digital assistant that will save doctors time and drive value for health systems,” said Aashima Gupta, M.S., director of global healthcare solutions at Google Cloud. “We look forward to working together to improve the ability of doctors to practice medicine and reduce physician burnout.”

The partnership comes just weeks after Microsoft and Nuance and Blue Shield of California, Altais and Notable Health announced partnerships to use AI to reduce administrative tasks.
