Going to the doctor can be hard. But fear not — Virtual care is on the rise. Instead of having to schedule an appointment months in advance, virtual care allows the patient to get help quicker and can be easier for physicians.

Recent studies have shown that patients are satisfied with telehealth services, whether it’s a post-operative phone call or a follow-up visit via a video conference.

Dan Trencher, senior vice president of product and strategy at Teladoc, a virtual care solutions company, believes that patients are going to be more receptive to virtual visits — sooner, rather than later.

As time progresses, Trencher thinks that people will seek virtual care before trying to schedule an in-person appointment.

The trend of digital health services is beneficial for patients, whether it is for telehealth visits or for more specific care access. And virtual care can improve workflow efficiency and patient outcomes.
